
The Heart Foundation is extremely proud of the research partnerships we have established with the following affiliates and acknowledges their contribution towards supporting valuable cardiovascular research.
The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Cardiovascular Health Mission supports research to improve heart health and reduce stroke in Australia. In 2020, the Heart Foundation partnered with the MRFF Cardiovascular Mission to fund 8 innovative and collaborative research projects in the areas of cardio-oncology, predictive modelling, secondary prevention and Women and heart disease.
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) leads the development and maintenance of public and individual health and ethical standards with significant achievements spanning over six decades. It is the primary body for funding prestigious health-related research in Australia, aiming to enhance the health of all Australians. The Heart Foundation and the NHMRC work together to support leading cardiovascular researchers.
The Stroke Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that works with the public, government, health professionals, patients, carers and stroke survivors to reduce the impact of stroke on the Australian community. The Heart Foundation works together with the Stroke Foundation on common goals and shared interests such as the Hypertension Taskforce.
The FHRI Fund provides a secure source of funding to drive health and medical research, innovation and commercialisation and through these activities, improve the health and prosperity of all Western Australians. It also provides an opportunity to diversify the economy, create jobs, improve the sustainability of the health system and position Western Australia as a leader in research and innovation.
The FHRI Fund – Heart Foundation Fellows stream offers a generous 4-year fellowship package, delivered in partnership with the Heart Foundation, that supports WA-based early- and mid-career researchers (EMCRs) and their research projects that demonstrate a credible real-world impact in the prevention, treatment and management of cardiovascular, stroke and peripheral vascular disease.
