National Manager Population Health & Wellbeing

Le Smith has over 27 years of experience in health, including a range of senior executive and leadership positions within the Not-for-Profit and For-purpose sectors. She brings a wealth of expertise in primary health care, health equity, program delivery, commissioning, and governance. Driven by a passion for health equity, social justice, and human rights, Le is dedicated to fostering partnerships across health, social, and community sectors to tackle the structural and social determinants that enhance health outcomes.

Le holds a Bachelor of Health Science and serves as an Honorary Research Fellow at the Menzies School of Health Research and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Flinders University College of Medicine & Public Health. Additionally, Le serves as an Independent Director on the Aboriginal Community Controlled Red Lily Health Service and Board Director on the Australian Women’s Health Alliance. With over 19 years of experience living and working in urban, rural, and remote regions of the Northern Territory, she is a dedicated advocate who understands and employs strength-based approaches to support diverse communities and environments.

Our Board

The role of the Board is to provide strategic oversight and direction for the Heart Foundation’s activities and ensure that those organisational activities are directed towards achieving its vision of an Australia free of heart disease and its mission to prevent heart disease and improve the heart health and quality of life of all Australians through our work in prevention, support and care and research.
